More Baby Blankets

This is an up-close view of the peach blanket that I crocheted a border for it.

This is some photos of a blanket that I made and gave as a gift
to my godmother's new grandson. It is a soft white with a mint green ribbon bordering it.

Baby Blanket

This is a blanket my grandmother made and I crocheted a border/edging.

This is a sea-green blanket my grandmother made that I bordered with a crochet edging.

This is a peach colored blanket that I bordered with a crochet edging and my grandmother made and monogrammed a Noah's Ark image.

I took another sea-green/blue colored blanket that my
grandmother made & I crocheted the edge in purple instead.

Here is the finished product of my LSU blanket.

I actually made a few doilies like this and
gave them out as Christmas gifts to my aunt and mother.

About me and this Blog

ABOUT ME AND THIS BLOG

I wanted this blog site to be solely dedicated to all of my crochet work since I started crocheting.

My grandmother taught me how to crochet when I was a little girl and it really meant a lot to me because I am a left-handed crocheter and so was she. I have never met anyone else who crochets left-handed and I know that if it was not for my grandmother teaching me when I was young, I know that I would have never tried to crochet in my later years. You see, it is rather hard for left-handers to learn to crochet. I never picked up a crochet hook or yarn since I was a little girl until I my junior year in college. I had a lot on my mind and I just had an impulse to want to crochet. I started re-teaching myself the basics and haven’t stopped since.

My husband (we have been married for over 5 years) really likes to play video games (playstation 3) a lot and we both really like to watch movies. It is a way for us to unwind after work and class. My husband and I are both in graduate school at LSU in the MPA program. Anyway, while we are watching television or while my husband plays his games, I like to crochet. I like the idea that my spare time is used to actually make something as opposed to just being wasted. I enjoy being able to see the progress that I make in my work and satisfaction when my project is complete. It helps relieve my stress and like to refer to my crocheting as my “worry work”.

I find that crocheting is a form of relaxation/meditation and it keeps my hands busy. It is a way for me to express my creativity. I really do not like following patterns; I would rather just look at pictures and figure out a way for my work to look like it.

I have lost a lot of my crochet photos throughout the years, and I give almost all of my work away, so I figured that this blog site would be a great place to put all of my photos and allow others to view my projects. Thanks for viewing my blog.

Here is some photos of a few scarves that I sold
online a few winters ago. I went on a scarf rampage and crochet
like ten scarves.
